    Custody & risk

    • If the issuer disappears
For the custodial variant, customer funds are held as e-money in segregated accounts by Unlimit Ltd., separate from operational funds. However, these funds are not covered by a deposit guarantee scheme.
    • Counterparty risk
E-money account not protected by deposit guarantee schemes
    • Counterparty risk
Custodial model risk for EUR variant

The Custodial Simplecard operates as a traditional crypto card where funds are managed by the provider. The USDC Simplecard is explicitly non-custodial, allowing users to connect their own wallet and maintain control over their private keys. This version also supports withdrawing funds back to a user's wallet in cryptocurrency.
